Cartooning Workshops: Five Animals in 5 Days (Series 1)
A new draw-along series of cartooning workshops is getting underway and as an Animal-Cartooning-Person-in-the-Making, you’re invited!
Are you able to join us in-person?
If at all possible, join the determined and delightful crew who attend ‘live’ online 😀.
Connecting with other cartoonists on-screen has a certain charm that seems to bely the Zoom-fatigue many of us felt as a result of the pandemic.
Of course you may also opt to receive just the replays if that suits your work schedule better.

Session 1 – Cartooning Birds: 12 April at 6pm GMT/UTC + 2
Session 2 – Cartooning Cats: 19 April at 6pm GMT/UTC + 2

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to be on video?
No, but it would be nice. You can turn on your video if you choose. No audio or video will be transmitted unless you expressly turn it on at your end. You can be on video, on audio, just use the chat or stay quiet. But I would love it if you said hello at the start.
Do I have to speak? Do I have to show my work?
No, you can listen, draw-along and not say a word, if you wish. However, I find that at the end, people are often excited enough to want to share what they did.
Will there be a recording?
The Zoom call will be recorded. I will send you the details one day after the call.
If I can’t attend, can I still get feedback on my work?
Absolutely, Alison will be available via email to give you feedback.
Who is this series of cartooning workshops for?
If you want to cartoon birds, cats, bears, dogs and rabbits – 🐔🐈🐻🐶🐇 –
…then, this series is for you!
P.S. Are you wondering, “But what if I can’t keep up?”
No need to panic!
You’ll get to revisit almost everything more than once, from multiple different angles. I call it the Spiral Staircase Approach to Learning – coming back to the same thing, but at a higher level of skill. It takes the pressure out of the learning process..
Also…
1. Most animal faces can be constructed off a similar starting point, especially if you are creating them in a similar style
2. Most four-legged creatures share common basic anatomy, so you will be mixing and matching and re-purposing.
