Hi Teresa

Lovely to hear from you. I’m glad that the post was useful and that you want to use cartoons on your website :D.

Your cartoon definitely doesn’t have to look like one of your editors, it can be a random character or even an ‘impossible’ made-up one like Sean d’Souza’s Cuatro over on Psychotactics.com, or Henneke Duistermaat’s Henrietta of EnchantingMarketing.com.

I am all in favour of the less human-looking characters, they add an entertaining element and they also stand out of the crowd more in terms of branding.

I am confused about cartooning faces–especially when the cartoon is meant to be on my own website. My business offers a personal service, so if I choose to use a cartoon, does it need to look like one of my editors or can it just be a character?
